i was trying very hard to clock at least 60 hours of work this month while coping with school work at the same time and i made it!

don't know why (actually i know) but so many part timers have left but i'm still only having like one or two shifts per week, which is obviously not enough.

well on a side note, my record is still left unbroken though.

104.5 hours in 1 month while balancing with school work. that's an average of 5 to 6 shifts per week.

HAHAHA!!! i'm such a hardworking student.

luckily!!

i was about to go penniless ever since i spent that hefty sum of about one thousand plus for the last two months. i have to get rid of this horrible habit of splurging.

---

next week would be busy, i get to work on monday, wednesday, friday and sunday, go out with friends on tuesday.

just nice, leaves me the whole of saturday for my RCD project (beam design part) which i have yet to touch on.

perfectly planned, i'm such an organised person.

interesting high end fashion facts you probably don't know.

global rankings:

1) giorgio armani and gucci topped global 'most coveted (desired) fashion brands'.

2) according to businessweek/interbrand, louis vuitton made it to #17, and only one of the two fashion brands that appeared on the top 50 companies. gucci was ranked #46.

3) other high fashion companies on the list are: chanel (#61), hermes (#81), cartier (#86), bulgari (#95), prada (#96), armani (#97) and burberry (#98).

some louis vuitton facts:

1) louis vuitton has no discount sales nor any duty-free stores, probably because their sales are so damn good.

2) its graphic symbols, including quatrefoils and flowers (as well as the LV monogram), were based on the trend of using japanese and oriental designs in the late victorian era. interesting!

3) their products are so heavily conterfeited that only just over 1% of the items bearing the LV monogram are authentic. so the probabilities are, ten people you see using LV products, nine are fake!

some gucci facts:

1) gucci's history wasn't as smooth sailing when compared to louis vuitton, here's why..

"gucci remained one of the premier luxury goods establishments in the world
until the late 1970s, when a series of disastrous business decisions and
family quarrels brought the company to the verge of bankruptcy. in the early 1990s, Gucci underwent what is now recognized as the poorest time in the company's history."

that never happened to louis vuitton...

2) after guccio gucci's (founder of gucci) death in 1953, the company also developed its famous GG logo (guccio gucci's initials) which can also be seen on my wallet. :D

if i am to compare louis vuitton with gucci, it would be like comparing billabong to OP (ocean pacific, well if you still remember this brand, it use to be pretty popular among the poorer students during my secondary school days).

seems like smearing LV & gucci's reputation right? but hey, it's just a comparing ratio. i mean LV & gucci are definitely at least 1000 times better!

i remember that when i was still in my secondary school, i use to like OP a lot (yes i know, quite embarrassing to admit such a thing) because it was much more affordable to me as compared to billabong and it seems pretty similar to billabong.

& not to mention, all the 'rich, cool and preppy' students/classmates would use billabong/roxy/ripcurl and all sorts nonsensical surfer's brand bags and wallets.

which somehow brings me across to converse. it seems that the only 'surviving' brand out of those few hot secondary school favourites is converse. almost everyone still wear converse canvas shoes now. they are a timeless & classic collection for guys although some others would opt for everlast's, fred perry's or some other brands' ones. very old school right? i still have 2 pairs which i'm still wearing.

it's one of those rare type of shoes that the older, dirtier and wearier they get, the nicer looking they are, strangely!

so i don't actually have to worry about dirtying/spoiling them too much, unlike my dress shoes which i have to keep them clean all the time.

lol, the bo-liao me has been rather bored recently and decided to go online and check up on the procedure as to how i can change my name (as in legally under the law of singapore, not change for fun).

i don't really want an english name, & i'm quite sick of my own current name already.

to my utmost surprise, it is actually very easy!!! :O

i just need to go the ICA building, with some simple supporting documents, pay $60 and wait to collect my new ic with my new name on it on the same day itself!

but then later, i found out that it is not as simple as it sounds.

imagine all the people i know of and have to notify (that i have changed my name already), my school, my letter that i've just sent to mindef (have to resend with my new name on), my passport, my student card, my EZ-link card, my debit card, my clothing discount cards, EVERYTHING.

EVERYTHING!!!

suddenly it seems so difficult and troublesome.

& my elder relatives might not be able to condone such a behaviour.

although i was only thinking of using the other name which the fortune teller gave my parents after my birth and before i got my current name.

i think it definitely sounds better than 'wei lun' and it's just as 'auspicious' according to him.

wei lun wei lun wei lun. so common. wtf. why didn't my parents choose the other one?

damn it. next time when i name my child, i must name him/her uniquely.

& did i mention that wei (伟) is just as bad as xiao (小) and da (大)? no meaning at all.

why other chinese speaking country people have such cool sounding names like 萧 (xiao1) and 帅 (shuai4)?

like you know, 萧敬腾 (xiao jing teng),元帅 (yuan shuai), 劉宣 (*walan eh! don't even know how to pronounce the first character* xuan) and stuff like that.

like the name can FLY AND SOAR INTO THE SKY that kind of 'feel' you know?

i think it's because my parents were afraid that it would be difficult for me to recognise and learn how to write my name if my name was to be something like 萧敬腾, so they decided to give me a simpler name.

imagine a 4 year old learning how to write that. imba. can take forever can?

can't blame la, singapore chinese standard like that one lor.

anyway, i got back my RCD paper yesterday. so shocking! i scored 86!!!

as my lecturer praised me, "very well done."

i almost replied, "but they only want medium rare." OMG!! think work too much already. rcd paper become beef steak. hahahahaha..

as for APMC, soso lo, only 65. theory papers as usual, always expecting to score 90 plus but in the end, always get 60 plus one. very standard. i have pretty much accepted the fact that i'm bad at memorising stuff already.

some other purchases.

i swear these are the most comfy, fitting and nicest looking underwears i've ever worn.

puts everything inside in place neatly.

& did i mention that i hate boxers? make the *ahem* so saggy. how can guys like wearing boxers? i don't understand.

it seems like my ipod shuffle is an antique now, though it's only pathetically 512 MB (half a GB). nowadays, the lousiest ipod nano is also 16GB if i'm not wrong.

there's this classmate of mine who wants to buy my mp3 as a gift for his girlfriend. you see what i mean? technology gadgets can also be worth money after so many years, even apple stopped production for this model. got money also cannot buy one okay!!

actually i'm still very fond of it. not that i want to brag k... an ipod shuffle like mine is called 'classy'. the new small ones are called bullshit, little clones that are still available in the market for a hundred plus?

so what if they are smaller (until almost cannot see, you might just lose it so easily), can be clipped on to any parts of your body, available in so many other colours (oh but too bad you only get to choose one colour, unless you're intending to buy the whole collection?) and have bigger memory space?

SO WHAT????

my ipod is the essence of all apple mp3s, pure and white as he is, he is the first, he is the father of all apple mp3s, in the line of history!!!

wooow!! i can make a useless thing sound so phenomenal.
